Forty three years ago today on March 12, 1969 girls sobbed out in the streets. Reporters and fans were swarming, determined to get a glimpse or a touch. The newspapers and magazines were reeking of the subject. The world was in an uproar over the Vietnam War. The greatest band ever known to man was breaking up at a rapid pace, with no sign of stopping. The world wanted peace.
The ‘most eligible bachelor in the world’ was shedding his title. His hair was dark and overgrown, his face was a creamy pale and his dark eyebrows were arched like mountains. Thick lashes framed his big, doe-like hazel eyes and he was dressed in a dark suit with an orange, vibrant tie. He couldn’t contain his giddiness.
She tucked her pale, blonde hair behind her small, delicate ear. Her daughter held her hand tightly.Her face was clean despite the little amount of dark eyeliner she had applied that morning. She was dressed in orange, matching his tie. Only she and him knew of their child growing in her tummy. She spoke softly and wore a shy smile. Love was in the air.
Today was the day Paul McCartney married Linda Eastman.
